Settings

Settings is the tab beside Documents. Its sections come in the order below. Everything you set is kept on the device you set it on (in the browser’s storage on the web) and does not sync, so a browser and a phone each have their own settings.

Display

Setting	What it does	Default
Theme	System follows your device’s light or dark appearance; Light and Dark keep Entz in one of them. An open document repaints at once.	System
Accent	The colour of links, the selection and the app’s highlighted buttons and controls. Pick one of five swatches (blue, purple, green, magenta, grey) or any colour from the colour well. With the dark theme, Entz lightens it until it reads well against the dark background.	Blue

Connection

Setting	What it does	Default
Account	Sign in opens the sign-in page and brings you back to where you were, signed in: in the same tab on the web, through the system’s browser sheet on a phone. The button reads Signing in… meanwhile. Signed in, the row shows your name or email, and Sign out signs this device out, leaving your documents in its library.	Signed out
Display name	The name other people see on your caret, in the people on the right of their status bar, and on your comments. Left empty, it is your account’s name, which the field shows in brackets.	Empty

The line under them says what signing in brings: “Optional. When signed in, your documents are backed up and collaboration enabled.” When the sign-in fails, or the server cannot be reached, it says why instead.

The sign-in page is SpacetimeAuth’s, the sign-in service of SpacetimeDB, the database Entz syncs through. You stay signed in across visits; if a session can no longer be renewed, it ends and Sign in shows again. Offline and sync covers what signing in changes.

Assistant

The line under the section says that the key stays on this device and goes straight to the provider: the assistant calls the provider from your device, with no Entz server in between.

Grammar

Setting	What it does	Default
Dialect	The English the grammar check spells by: American English, British English, Canadian English or Australian English.	American English
Ignored words	The words you ignored from a grammar popover, which the check passes over in every document. Press the row (Clear the 3 ignored words, say) to clear them all; it reads No ignored words when there are none.	None

Turning the check on and off is not a setting: it is the spell-check button in each document’s status bar.

Version

Not settings, but what to quote when you report a problem:
